Police Records Consulting
You do not need to know what to ask for, which agency to contact, or how to respond when a department delays, denies, or heavily redacts records. CaseFile Access handles that for you.
Flat-fee pricing. Appeals included. State-specific police records strategy from first request to final delivery.
You bring the incident. CaseFile Access navigates the police records system and related agencies.
CaseFile Access is built for people who want the records without having to figure out the process themselves. We identify the right agencies, ask for the right materials, follow up when agencies stall, and help make sense of what comes back.
We do not send vague requests and hope for the best. We shape each request around the department, the law, and the records that actually matter.
If an agency denies the request or buries it in redactions, we handle the appeal as part of the service instead of treating it like an extra project.
When records arrive, we do more than forward files. We help clients understand what is there, what is missing, and what should be pursued next.
CaseFile Access commonly works on incident reports, arrest reports, 911 audio, dispatch logs, CAD notes, body-worn camera footage, complaint records, jail records, and connected files from related agencies.
Why This Is Different
Basic FOIA platforms help you send a request. CaseFile Access handles the process for you. That difference matters when the wrong agency gets contacted, the wrong records are requested, or a denial needs follow-up.
Flat-fee, no-surprise pricing. You are hiring CaseFile Access for expertise and process, not a guaranteed outcome. Appeals are included in the base price.
$100
Best for a single incident, traffic stop, arrest, or specific call for service.
From $250
Ideal for serious incidents, in-custody deaths, multi-agency responses, or investigative projects.
$50
For clients who need clarity more than new filings.
Your fee is non-refundable and covers our time and expertise: strategy, drafting, filing, follow-up, and appeals. Because every state has different laws and exemptions, especially around police records, CaseFile Access cannot guarantee specific documents will be released.
If a police department or other agency charges its own fees for copies, media, or processing, those are separate from our fee. We will forward you the official notice, and those fees must be paid before we can obtain or release the records. No markups, no hidden charges.
You tell us what happened, where, when, and what you are hoping to learn from the police records. We review the situation and confirm whether a request is feasible.
If we accept the case, we send a clear, flat-fee invoice. We explain what is realistically obtainable in your state and what the business will handle, including appeals if needed.
We draft precise, state-specific police records requests and file them with the appropriate department or departments, then track deadlines and responses.
If denied or heavily redacted, we file an appeal at no extra cost. When records are released, we help clients understand them and identify what is missing or worth pursuing next.
Police records are not handled the same way in every state. Some states are relatively open, while others are extremely restrictive or carve out police records from their public records laws. We adjust strategy based on where the incident occurred.
Generally more open to police records, with clearer procedures and stronger rights for requesters.
Example: Florida, Washington
Mixed access. Some police records are straightforward, others are heavily exempt or require appeals and alternative agencies.
Example: New York, Illinois
More restrictive laws or aggressive use of exemptions for police records. Strategy, appeals, and cross-agency workarounds matter more here.
Example: Pennsylvania, Alabama (for some records)
When you select your state in the intake form, you will see a brief advisory if it requires special handling for police records.
Broader access to arrest, incident, 911, body cam, and related investigative media.
Good access in some categories, but audio, body cam, and agency practice can vary widely.
Basic logs are often obtainable, but narratives and deeper police records are more limited.
No. No one can honestly guarantee that. State law, exemptions, and agency behavior all affect what can be released. What CaseFile Access does guarantee is that we will pursue every legally available avenue, drafting, follow-up, and appeals, to maximize your chances.
No. Our fee covers the business's time and expertise: strategy, drafting, filing, follow-up, and appeals. The department's decision is outside our control, and we are upfront about that from the start.
Some agencies charge for copies, media like body-worn camera, or staff time. Those fees are separate from our fee and must be paid before records can be obtained or released. We will always show you the official notice so you know exactly what you are paying for.
Yes. CaseFile Access provides nationwide consulting focused on police records and related public records. Some states are more restrictive than others, and we will explain what is realistically obtainable in your jurisdiction before you pay.
Police records are our primary focus, but many cases involve other agencies, such as medical examiners, 911 centers, prosecutors, risk management, and more. When it makes sense, we recommend and handle related requests as part of a broader strategy.
This form does not charge you. It gives CaseFile Access enough information to review your situation and decide whether the business can help. If we accept the case, we will send a clear, flat-fee invoice you can pay online.
